Shreveport Providence House

Marchitelli's third annual Bayou in the Butte is primarily sponsoring the Shreveport Providence House, which is a residential development center for homeless families with children - based out of Shreveport, Louisiana. Their goal, their mission, is to provide a "common thread that flows throughout with God's grace and compassion that enables lives to be continually transformed". Established in the late 1980s, the Shreveport Providence House was founded in response to the plea of homeless families with children - some 40% of the population. Today, the program has a 92%-95% graduation success rate, meaning the families continue to be self-sustaining, drug-free, and productive members of the community. For more information about this great program, and to help break the homeless cycle, click here.
